Human Rights Lawyer Escapes Death In Kano

Kano based Human rights activist, Hajiya Hussaina Aliyu narrowly escaped death as unknown gunmen attacked her over the weekend and snatched her car at gunpoint. Hajiya Hussaina Aliyu, an immediate chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers speaking about the incident, told Vanguard on phone that the gunmen approached her by the entrance gate of home while she was returning home by 7.00pm. The Human Rights activist who said the gunmen carried out the operation in about 60 seconds, forced her out of her car, fired shots in the air and vanished. Hussaina, who is grateful to God for escaping death, saying: “I give Glory to Allah for His mercies”, however said the matter has been reported to the police while stating that she lost vital documents , personal items to the invaders during the operation.
